“The Exams of the Graduation Courses of GSU will be organised Online”

Taking into account the extension (from April 14) of the State of Emergency in Armenia, at the regular meeting of the GSU rector’s office were also discussed the issues of the online organization of the spring session of the graduation courses in full-time training in master’s and bachelor’s programs. They also discussed the existing problems, the future plans and the software maintenance capabilities.
In April 10 the training session of the graduation courses 2019-2020 in GSU were completed. The part-time lessons of the graduation semester were exceptionally organized through the distance learning tools and the generalization of the results showed that the involvement of the students was at a very high level.
Taking into account the challenges of the current situation because of the epidemic and the necessity to find unified solutions in the education process, taking as a bisis the guide to quality assurance in online learning offered by the National center for Quality Assurance of Professional Education. The application of the procedure for assessing GSU students’ knowledge has been temporarily suspended by the rector’s order in April 17,2020,number 73. There were also established temporary criteria for assessing knowledge, which will be used as a basis for the organization of the examination session of the 2nd semester of 2019-2020. By the rector’s order No. 74 A of April 17,2020, graduation courses conditions and dates of the spring session were also set. Until the April 24 of this year at the faculty councils and department meetings will be organized online discussions about the preparatory work of the spring session of the final courses of full-time and part-time courses in the bachelor’s and master’s educational programs.
The process of repayment of subject debts of final courses full-time and part-time courses in bachelor’s and master’s educational programs,as well as deferred practice defenses, will be organized online from April 17 to April 23 of this year by using informational and communicational modern technologies, and the results will be summed up in Google drive by means of the included Google docs, Google sheets online tools.
In the Faculties will be formed electronical schedules of the spring session of final courses without time limit.
The spring session of the final courses of full-time and part-time courses in the bachelor’s and master’s educational programs will be organized online from April 24 to May 4 of this year by using the informational and communicational modern technologies, and the final electronic evoluation bulletins will be completed by means of the online tools Google docs, Google sheets included in Google drive.
The process of passing preliminary defence of final papers and master’s theses also will be organized online according to the current orders (3.7,3.8,3.9 points: in the implementations of the graduation paper and defence order, 3.9, 3.10 and 3.11 points: in the implementation of the master’s theses and defence order) by using the informational and communicational modern  technologies.
The responsibility for ensuring the quality of the above-mentioned online processes is assigned to the Head of the Department of Education Quality Assurance of GSU G. Shabunts, the providing online computer tools is assigned to A. Ordyan, the Responsible for the Laboratory of Information Technology and Software of GSU, and the overall control of the command is assigned to the vice-rector T. Marutyan.The issues of the formation of final certification commossions and the organization of final work and the defence of master’s theses will be discussed after.
