A LONG-TERM COURSE AIMED AT THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS HAS BEEN LAUNCHED AT GSU
The Department of External Relations, Cooperation and Media (ERCM) of GSU launched a long-term course aimed at the development of English skills. The course is designed for the employees and students of the GSU, who are included in the working groups of the university’s current international programs (capacity building, mobility, etc.).
Head of the ERCM department N. Safaryan, welcoming the participants of the course, emphasized the importance of the course and the need to use English in educational processes and activities aimed at the internationalization of the university. Speaking about the selection of the participants, she noted that the department took into account the advice of the expert group implementing the institutional accreditation of GSU and was guided by a targeted approach in the process of language development, involving the university’s staff and students in the process whose potential can be used for the benefit of the above activities.
S. Alaverdyan, a specialist of the ERCM department, and M. Grigoryan, a trainer, and lecturer in the Chair of Foreign Language and Literature, presented the details and conditions of the course to the course participants.
It is worth mentioning that before the start of the course, the working team conducted a pre-test to find out the level of English proficiency of the participants. Based on the results, two groups were formed for participants with elementary and intermediate level proficiency.
