Universities and NAS international partners present the reality of war

Universities of Armenia and the National Academy of Sciences present to foreign partners the reality of the large-scale war unleashed by the Turkish-Azerbaijani terrorist coalition, calling for an adequate assessment of the enemy’s aggression. RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Artur Martirosyan President of NAS RA Radik Martirosyan, Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Harutyun Marutyan, Director of the Institute of History of the National Academy Ashot Melkonyan, Chairman of the Science Committee Sargis Hayotsyan, Erasmus National Office System Lana Karlova, during the meeting with the officials, it was noted that the Ministry of Education and Science continues to rise on various international platforms from September 27 since the unleashed military aggression of the Azerbaijani-Turkish terrorist coalition. The local body of the Minister has called on universities and scientific organizations with their international partners to carry out follow-up and targeted work, to provide comprehensive information on the targeting of educational and other civilian infrastructure by the adversary, showing the actions of the Azerbaijani-Turkish terrorist coalition. The representatives of the scientific organizations and universities present at the meeting, in their turn, ave presented what works are being carried out. The National Academy of Sciences has sent letters to the academies of 82 countries and 130 of NAS RA foreign members of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, urging the scientific community not to remain indifferent, to condemn the large-scale war unleashed by Azerbaijan and Turkey. In addition to the bilateral and multilateral work done by educational and scientific institutions, those present have also noted, that relevant letters had already been sent to various international scientific organizations, including the International Association of Historians, the Association of European Universities, the Network of Maritime Universities, Eurasia Association, Francophonie University Agency, etc. Deputy Minister A. Martirosyan spoke about the importance of holding international conferences in the near future. According to the participants of the meeting, the partners should be told that the best way to curb the Turkish-Azerbaijani terrorist aggression, to prevent a “long-lasting” peace in the region, is to recognize the independence of Artsakh internationally. During the meeting, the need to coordinate efforts with the centers of Armenology operating in different universities of the world has also been discussed.
