Chair of Economics and Management

The Chair of Economics and Management at Goris State University was established in 2002 and was initially named the Chair of Economics and Social Sciences. From 2002 to 2007, the chair was led by Hamlet Ovsepyan, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor. From 2007 to 2017, it was headed by Gurgen Minasyan, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor. In 2007, the chair was renamed the Chair of Economics and Social Sciences, and in 2017, it became the Chair of Economics and Management.

From 2018 to 2021, the chair was led by Siрануш Poghosyan, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor. Since September 2021, the duties of the head of the chair have been temporarily performed by Shahané Baghdasaryan, Candidate of Economic Sciences.

The chair offers two levels of educational programs – bachelor’s and master’s degrees – with both full-time and part-time modes of study in the following fields: “Economics,” “Management,” “Tourism Management,” “Business Economics.”

Currently, the chair has four candidates of economic sciences, associate professors, one associate professor, one assistant, and five lecturers.

The chair collaborates with the Faculty of Economics at Yerevan State University, Yerevan State University of Economics, and the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia.
